Portsmouth NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is responsible for commissioning a wide range of NHS services for people who live and work in the city of Portsmouth. The CCG aims to work with organisations providing care to ensure that city residents get the highest quality care possible.
As a CCG we are expected to work with our member GPs, healthcare professionals, patients and a wide range of local organisations to design effective and high quality health services for people in Portsmouth.
Our commissioning responsibilities cover services including (but not limited to):
Elective hospital care
Rehabilitation care
Urgent and emergency care
Most community health services
Mental health & learning disabilities
We are not responsible for specialist health services, nor for primary care or public health services but it is very important that we work very closely with those who do provide these services.
